Using Sibelius software, recent activity has included transcribing the hand-written ink scores of John Foulds (1880-1939) into print. These have comprised songs, solo piano pieces and choral, chamber and orchestral works including fully-prepared parts with cues. In this case, the brief was to replicate as closely as possible the content of the original scores with a minimum of editorial input. It has been a pleasure to increase the visibility of this prolific composer. Vols. 3 and 4 of Dutton Epoch's Orchestral Works of John Foulds (with the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Ronald Corp) feature scores David M. Hoyle has notated.
